Day one . Done.

Yesterday morning was Darren’s first session with me!  Measurements, weight and photos taken.  I showed him how to correctly do his exercise program, that he will then do at home in between our sessions.  Taking the first step on this journey  was a big thing for Darren,   I must say he did a great job and I would even go as far as saying **in a quiet whisper** he enjoyed it?!  My advice to him this morning was to go down the stairs via his bottom.. practical advice from his caring PT.

Darren will be sending me daily food diaries for me to ensure he is on track!

Sunday 4th January – weight =24 stone 4lbs   See how happy Darren is that I’m about to kick butt?! 😉

In November 2014, Fit4Life Personal Training based in Stourbridge, West Midlands launched a competition to win six months free Personal Training for someone with a goal of losing 5 stone or more.

Darren Bassett aged 43 from Wordsley, West Midlands entered the competition alongside fifteen other weight loss hopefuls. Darren was the successful winner which was announced on the 20th December 2014, due to start his weight loss and fitness journey on 4th January 2015. Please see below to view his winning entry.

“Challenges don’t come much bigger than me! 43 years old, 23 stone, diabetic & not done strict weekly exercise since I stopped playing rugby back in the mid 90’s. In the past 12 years I’ve lost around 4 stone on three separate occasions but put it back on each time within a year to 18 months. For me to make a real permanent change to my weight I need to look at my eating habits, health issues & exercise as one & as a new lifestyle choice not a “diet fad” When I read your status about your 6 month offer/ challenge both me & Sal thought I’d be the perfect candidate for the reasons above, but also because this will be a great advertisement for you at what you can help people achieve. The fact that you will be sharing “our” progress is a real benefit for me as my deep seated male pride won’t let me publicly fail so I will follow the plan! My short term goal is to fit into my XXL slim fit England rugby shirt for the rugby World Cup games I’m going to starting in September next year. Lastly you could be the 3rd Sally in my life, my wife Sally, my boss at work Sally & now maybe my personal trainer Sally.”
